Day 01: Arrival, Transfer to Thimphu Valley (1.5hrs drive)
On the flight into Paro you will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, Kanchen Junga and other Himalayan Peaks including sacred Chomolhari and Mount Jichu Drake. On your arrival at the Paro International Airport your Smile Bhutan     an. Upon arrival, check in the hotel. Following lunch you will have the choice of the National Memorial Chorten and National Textile Museum. If time permits, visit the bustling weekend market where residents of Thimphu have been gathering every weekend to buy their green groceries for over 3 decades and perhaps time to stroll main street for some interesting Himalayan artefacts or textiles. In the evening we will visit the chang gangkha   lakhang to lit butter lamps to bring luck and good health at this temple for our entire trip .

1 night stay in Thimphu

Day 02: Thimphu Valley Exploration/Transfer to Paro Valley (1.5hrs drive)
After breakfast, you will head to the north end of the valley to view Trashi Chhoe Dzong, the seat of Bhutan’s government and Royal offices. Pay a visit to Zorig Chusum (where students learn the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan).

Have lunch, then it’s time for you to transfer to Paro. You will follow your way back up the dramatic Wang Chu and Paro Chu river valleys, before crossing through Paro Town towards the north end of the valley. Upon arrival, check into the Hotel and balance of the day can be spend browsing shops in town.

Day 03: Paro Valley Exploration
After breakfast we will drive towards north of Paro for a full day hike up to Taktsang lakhang, more commonly known as the Tiger’s Nest. It was established in the eighth century when Padmasambava, the country’s patron saint, who brought Buddhism toBhutan, flew here on the back of his mythical tigress consort to meditate. The main buildings sit astride a sheer rock cliff face more than 2000m above the valley. The most prominent building burned to the ground in 1998, but was rebuilt with no visual architectural differences from its predecessor. Our hike begins at roughly 8,000 ft and goes to just over 10,000 ft. On reaching the main temple we will experience a once-in-a-lifetime view of the valley and the temple. Evening at leisure.

Day 04: Depart Paro to onward Destination
After breakfast in the hotel, we will head to the airport in time to catch your departing flight. Your guide from the Smile Bhutan family will bid you farewell and the remote and legendary Dragon Kingdom will again disappear behind its guardian mountain.
